Hen of the Wood is devoted to helping our patrons learn about and taste a wide selection of artisan and farmstead cheeses.
Our sources create their cheeses with amazing care for their animals as well as the land. Why does this matter? It means the resulting cheeses are free of pesticides and fertilizers in the grains and grasses, as well as free of growth hormones and non-essential antibiotics in the cows, goats and sheep which provide their milk.
Also, these cheese artisans design the flavors of their cheeses by grazing their animals on selected grasses at certain times of the seasons. Our cheese is available in 2 oz. portions and usually accompanied by toasted hazelnuts and seasonal fruit.
